Lab Director

Dr. Meghan Costello is an Assistant Professor in the School Psychology program at the University of South Carolina, where she directs the Peer Lab. The Peer Lab focuses on adolescent mental health and well-being, social relationships, and school- and community-based program development and evaluation.

Dr. Costello received her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Quantitative Psychology from the University of Virginia. From there, she earned a certificate in Lifespan Development from the International Max Planck Research Institute in Berlin, Germany; completed her predoctoral clinical internship in the Cognitive Behavioral Scientist track at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (MGH/HMS); and trained as a K12 postdoctoral research fellow specializing in adolescent substance use and addiction medicine at MGH/HMS.

Dr. Costello grew up moving around the country (her father was a Navy officer), so she loves meeting new people and establishing new connections. Outside the lab, you can find her trying new gluten free recipes, exploring the nature in and around Columbia, or taking care of her houseplans and her ragdoll cat, Ravioli.
